Big Bass Fishin is one of those games I opened expecting to close after five minutes, and then it was somehow an hour later. The core loop is simple: pick a spot, cast your line, and wait for a bite. But the reeling itself has a nice rhythm to it, tugging against the fish while watching the line tension so it doesn't snap. It's calming without being boring.
Controls are all touch and swipe. You flick to cast, hold and pull to fight the catch, and tap to switch lures. Nothing complicated, but there's real skill in timing your pulls against a fish that fights back. Bigger catches genuinely require patience, and landing a stubborn one feels earned.
What kept me coming back was the sense of progression across different lakes and weather conditions. Rain changes what bites, mornings feel different from evenings, and you slowly figure out which lure works where. It's a quiet, tidy game that respects your time.
