Emberfall Saga

Emberfall Saga is the kind of RPG that makes your commute vanish. You lead a small band of misfits across a collapsing kingdom, and the writing is sharp enough that I found myself reading every side conversation. The party members bicker, grow, and occasionally break your heart.

Combat is turn-based with a positioning twist: where your characters stand on the grid actually matters, so battles feel more like small puzzles than stat checks. Skill trees are generous without being overwhelming, and respeccing is cheap, so you can experiment.

My one gripe is a slow middle stretch where the pacing sags. Push through it and the back half is excellent. This is a proper RPG that just happens to live on your phone.
